With optimism in its tone and heartache in its bones, Last Call for Dreamers, the first full-length album by Washington folk balladeers The Lowdown Drifters, is a record that gets better and better with age.

Premiering earlier this year, Last Call for Dreamers is the first long-playing record released by country folk ensemble, who released their debut EP Wood & Water back in 2016. As a rhythmically-rocking, folk-centric road runner band, The Drifters create music fitting for the Pacific Northwest and with a distinct story to tell.

From the country-acoustic, mainstream country critique track “Last Night in Denver”  to the pain-stricken “Between the Bottom and the Bottle”, The Lowdown Drifters grip your ears, your mind, and your heart all at once; throughout these songs, the adversity is palpable and the situations are relatable. And for fifty minutes you’re brought onto the tour bus alongside the band, with the long road ahead and last night’s venue in the rearview.

An engaging mix of modern-day honky-tonk heroes like Midland and Mike and the Moonpies jazzed up with roots-folk legends like Jason Isbell and Margo Price, The Lowdown Drifters write music that is based on truth and built to last. Formed in Stanwood, WA around a shared passion for songwriting and traditional country music, The Drifters are on their way to perfecting the craft of writing and producing country music the way it was meant to be, timeless.

A lifetime in the making, as they describe it, Last Call for Dreamers calmly runs through topics ranging from the traveling band lifestyle to childhood and teenage nostalgia. Drenched in heartache but with subtle spices of optimism, the new album is a folksy southern rock record built on red dirt roads and pine tree forests and then strengthened by asphalt highways.

Recorded at the MARS Studio in the Seattle suburb of Bothell, WA, Last Call For Dreamers was mixed by Malcolm Springer at the House of Blues Studio in Nashville and mastered at the Terra Nova Digital Studio in Austin, TX. Now distributed by Sony Records, the LP puts The Lowdown Drifters on full display and leaves nothing undisclosed. Seeing the masterful record live in concert is now the only thing left to do.
